DAHER DELIVERS THE FIRST MAIN LANDING GEAR DOOR FOR THE AIRBUS A350-1000

Tarbes, September 9, 2015 – Daher today delivered to Airbus the first main landing gear door for the A350-1000, which will be used during the kinematics test program set to be carried out on the landing gear. Daher designs and manufactures composite landing gear doors for all aircraft belonging to the A350 XWB family.

Daher is an important partner in the A350 XWB program, with responsibility for several other Work Packages (parts for the engine environment, elementary parts made of thermoplastic composites) and integrated logistics services.

“We are proud to be contributing to the success of the A350 XWB program by delivering this part which will allow kinematics testing to commence, and contribute to the first flight of the A350-1000 to go ahead”, commented Nicolas Orance, Director of Daher’s Aerospace & Defense Business Unit. “This first component comes exactly four years after the same part for the -900 version and on the exact date of need approved with Airbus over a year ago, which is definitely testimony to our commitment to our customer.”

“The landing gear doors required innovations to optimize their design and manufacture, using the latest equipment for automated fiber placement,” explained Christophe Berger, Director of Industry at Daher. « Daher was committed to meet challenging performance and timing targets, a sign of the Best Performer Award received from Airbus in 2015. »
